The Zoo Jack Pot

Have you ever been to the zoo when it was stinkin' hot? Have you ever been to the zoo when it was so hot none of the animals wanted to come out and play? Have ever been to the zoo when it was so crowded you had to use your best elbow technique just so your kid could get a half way decent view? Yeah, we have to. BUT I can tell you that Saturday was NOT  one of those days. You could say that we hit the zoo jack pot. For some unknown reason it was in the 60s on Saturday! In May! In Texas! Our kids were in long sleeves for crying out loud! What?!!? We took advantage of it and thought that the rest of DFW would have the same idea,  but for some reason the zoo was relatively uncrowded. The monkeys were swinging, the lions were roaring, the giraffes were um........ giraffing. It was great. There was even a tiny little baby monkey that provided great entertainment as he went from one parent to the other hanging all over them. As we passed the kids back and forth and the requests of "I want to hold you!" became more frequent I wanted to shout to the monkey parents, " I totally get how you feel!!!!!" It was hilarious they actually had that look of "I've had it!" on their faces.

The Fort Worth Zoo just opened up the coolest Dinosaur exhibit. The Dinosaurs are all animated and let out a roar at regular intervals. As you can see below Carson was in heaven as his fascinations include Dinosaurs along with monster trucks, trains, and motorcycles oh and buses. He saw all 5 that day. Like I said . heaven! We think Kate was afraid of them. Instead of her acting like a regular 3 year old and crying or trying to avoid them she tried to hurry her brother along and say "I don't want it!" We did not let this happen and Carson got all of his dino watching in.

The train. Definitely the highlight of the day. The train blows its whistle really loud. Bonus!

Have you ever carried a 30 lb girl on your shoulders? It ain't no picnic. But she loved it so I smiled through the pain. And then I heard the 5 most beautiful words that day , "Mommy, I want to walk."

Do you see it? It's a rare spotted Carson reaching for a bird. We are beginning to figure out that Carson has fear of very few things. Chuck E Cheese being one of those things that he fears. :) Side story: Tonight there was dog barking in our neighbor's yard and he was crying out by the back of our fence. I thought he was paralyzed by fear because the dog was rabidly barking at him. No... he was sad because he couldn't get to the dog on the other side of the fence. He LOVES dogs.

Taking the long walk back to free parking. But it was a beautiful day so our cheapness worked in our favor!

I love it. I love it. I love it. Those kids are so adorable.

Ok, a small request. Not to be picky but apparently my eyesight is going out. You gotta make that font bigger on the caption of the pictures so I don't look like an old granny squinting my eyes 2 inches from the screen to read. :o) Plus your captions are HILARIOUS so I need to be able to the see them.

Or I guess I could get glasses....

AWESOME! I love the zoo!!!

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
