Hitting the Santa Jack Pot

Let's be honest Kate's track record with Santa has been rough at best. Let's take a look at the past visits with Santa..... 2011 there was no picture due to the fact that she completely fled the scene and left Carson stranded with Santa.

Then there was 2010. Complete terror...

And who could forget this picture from 2009?

So this year I had no idea what she would do, or what Carson would do for that matter. The line was LONG. I think we waited 2 hours. We were 10 minutes into the line and Kate announced that she needed to go potty. Oh man! So we had to get out of the long line, high tail to the nasty mall bathroom and then make our way back to the end of the line which was now even longer mind you. Now we were in between  a lady that smelled like moth balls and a guy in back of us who smelled like he hadn't taken a shower in a month. It was a toss up but in the end I stayed closer to the moth ball lady. Of course Kate exclaimed, "Pee U!" a couple of times to which I said "4 years old... what are you gonna do?" to the curious stares. We finally got about 10 minutes away when Kate said, "Mommy I need to go poop!" I made the biggest potty gamble yet and aked if she could hold it as we were so close. I have never asked either of my kids to hold it knowing that the ramfications to that would be enormous but we were TEN minutes away! Also Kate had just said to me, "I don't want to go and see Santa anymore." I did not have high hopes. Also right before we walked up to the see him she pointed to the arch way where you exit and said, "Mom that's the way out right?" It looked like we were going to have  repeat of years past and then............

I guess you could say that Kate has made her peace with Santa. :)

A big hug from brother. And a big confident smile from Kate.

That's  her "I'm so proud of myself I can hardly stand it" face.

What a difference a year makes.:)

Telling Santa she wants a train?!??! Never heard that before!

Friends at last!
It made the whole smelly 2 hour wait SO worth it.  I was so proud of both of them. Big hugs for Santa and they looked him in the eye and told him exactly what they wanted.

Very cute. Santa needs to leave the vest tho. Uck. Way to go Kate for holding your poop! Important skill! As is making peace with Sanny Claws!

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
