Iceamegeddon

That's what the media is calling our Winter Blast. I have to say that 99.9% I make fun of the weathermen and how worked up they get over storms. And a lot of the times they call it wrong (ahem! 3 weeks ago.) But this time they hit the nail right on the head. Wow. I've heard people that have lived here their whole life say that this is the worst they've ever seen. I confirmed that fact for myself when I tried to clear the ice off of my driveway this afternoon. By the way school is out AGAIN tomorrow. I think a lot of people are upset about this but I am so excited. That's a bout the best Birthday gift I can think of for myself:  Spending my Birthday with my  2 most favorite people in the whole world.

This was my driveway when I first got out there. One solid sheet of ice. My neighbors on the other side of the street are clear because their house faces the sun (which was out for a couple of hours yesterday). My house spends most of the day in the shade. This is good in the summer because I have one of the greenest lawns on the block but as it turns out this is bad when an ice storm hits hard.

These are the blocks of ice I was removing at first. This turned out to be the best part because they would just lift out.

The ice was easily 6 inches right by my garage.

Static Electricity! I figure if our power ever went out we could use Kate's hair as our electricity. Wow!

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
