This Is How We Celebrate Our Six Year Old

Last week we happened upon the fair that goes along with the annual Fort Worth Stock Show. We didn't plan it but we kind of stumbled upon it and loved what we saw. We didn't get to spend much time there so when I asked Kate what she would like to do for her birthday she told me she wanted to go back to the "carnival". So armed with more enthusiasm (me) and spending money we made some awesome memories with our favorite 6 year old girl on her special day.

She got to pick out a balloon at Party City. This is becoming something of a tradition around our house.

I made her these hot pink cupcakes

Last night the kids spent the night at the Tuleys because I ran a race super early in the morning. Seriously amazing friends. They are like family to my kids. And I hear they fought like siblings. But what a blessing Jodi and Derek are to us.

We went to Daddy's work so that he could give Kate a birthday hug and she walked away with a bag full of gifts. She was so celebrated and loved today. This Hello Kitty was a special favorite.

HELLO KITTY!!!!

There has never been a sweeter girl than my girl.

Carso just had to ride the bumper cars and sister rode shot gun

But as with all bumper cars they got boxed in and hardly moved but they still loved it. Ha! It never changes every parent was shouting at their kid, "turn the wheel!!!"

She rode this big slide with no fear

And loved ever millisecond

The fun house was a favorite of Carsos. At first he was apprehensive to go through the spinning tunnel

But by the second try he was an old pro:)

Kate was not a fan. Brother was coaching her on how to balance.

She was still not convinced and I started up the stairs to work it out. But before I could get up there, Carso had helped her through. I should have know the dynamic duo would work it out. She trusts him so much.

And she was proud.

And I promise you will never see more pictures of Kate on a dragon again but I couldn't resist because it seemed like each frame captured her personality right now so well.

When  we found the flying dragons it was all over. Tickets blown!

There's Carso always looking out for his girl

Ok the story behind the blue boots is pretty funny. Those are Carson's boots. After Kate came out of the Fun House for the second time it seemed she had had an ummmm.... accident so we headed back to the car to get dry clothes which we thankfully had due to the sleep over. We could replace everything but her shoes. I challenged us to find a solution to the wet shoes problem. And then Carson popped up, "Hey Mommy my blue boots are under my seat!" And our problem was solved just like that.

Carso saves the day

A bubble gun was such a fun find. The person who invented these is a genius. If we can take care of these I see hours of fun ahead.

My Mom was on the phone with Kate yesterday and she told Kate that if there was a cupcake left over to save it in the freezer for her. Well Kate really took that to heart. When she saw that cupcake in the front seat she told me in no uncertain terms that noone could eat that cupcake and we had to put it into the freezer for Mimi. So into the freezer it went!
