Party Prep

Kate loves to clean. Well as long as she has a Lysol Wipe in her hand she loves to clean. Last night she got all dressed up and gave my cabinets a good cleaning.

My big girl got a big girl bike. I can't believe it. You should see the helmets they both picked out. Hilarious.

I am finding that no one loves a party more than my boy. He took it upon himself to help me stuff the envelopes for Kate's Birthday invites and............

Lick the envelopes! I thought this was the cutest thing. He was so into it.

Then Kate said she wanted to write her name on every single one. Between writing them on the front and back she wrote her name over 80 times tonight:)

I got a bag of Pony beads for Kate's party and wanted to try it out to see how easily  they could make a bracelet. We used a pipe cleaner to thread them on which ended up working really well. The kids loved it:)

Carson was especially serious about his jewelry making. He traded off between threading the beads and racing his 2 monster trucks.

He finally made this necklace which he was super proud of.

Kate doing a little more invite decorating. Let's just say the recipient will have no question as to whose party it is:)

FIVE!

How in the world did my beautiful, confident Kate turn five just like that? My main goal on her birthday was to make her feel extra special. I think that goal was accomplished. She went to school in a birthday tiara, earrings , and a "5" shirt. Everyone made a fuss over her and she loved it. We brought cupcakes to share with her class. I watched from the window after I dropped her off. Watching her play with her friends, giving hugs to her two favorite girls, another Cate and Bisola. She was just brimming with confidence and poise and I was just overwhelmed with such happiness and gratitude for the girl that she is becoming. I absolutely love being with her. She is my favorite girl in the whole wide world.

Her favorite donuts and in the shape of hearts! What could be better?

Captain Carso's Pirate Party...Aaaarghhhh!!!

The Captain pre party:) He didn't wear that bandana for long but it was so cute while it lasted:)

I got these hershey kiss covers online. So cute, but I wish I would have put them in the treasure boxes because now we have a ton left!

I used my stamp set and gold paint to make the signs for the candy jars.

The pirate list

Every kid got a sword, hat, eye patch and spying scope (I love that that is what Carso calls little telescopes)

Treasure boxes that came in handy for our treasure hunt.

Pirate mantle by my sis in law Stacey or Auntie Stace as the kids call her.

My 2  4 year olds pre party.

The Pirate goody table. Sister is in the back ground picking out the best tattoos:)

Chocolate cookies for "planks" and gumballs for "cannon balls"

Twizzlers for the "pirate ropes"

And of course cupcakes!!

Daddy dressed up like Captain Jack Black and Carson was delighted to say the least:)

They are saying "aaarrrggghhhh!!"

Rice Krispy pirate pops...so good...believe me I ate about 10!

I dusted off the sewing machine and sewed 4 pirate bandanas together to make this pirate flag.

Beautiful Cousins

My wonderful amazing fantastic (can you tell how much I love her) sister in law Stacey came to help me with Carson's Pirate party last week end and she brought my 2 favorite neices in the whole wide world, Marin and Hollis. Marin just turned 2 in December and Hollis will turn 1 next week. They share the same fun circumstance as Kate &Carson of being close in age. It was so fun to see my kids with the girls. They all had such a good time. My favorite part was when Marin would call out "Carsie!!!! Where are you?????"

My heart melts with this one:)

Marin has the cutest little mannerisms. When you ask her something and she should say yes she says, "Thank you!" but it's the cutest little thank you you've ever heard. I admit I would invent questions for her so I could hear that little "Thank you!"

My favorite face of Marin's. Just cracks me up. Oh how I wish these girls lived closer. I would definitely be doing a lot of neice sitting.:)
Carson started this trend and of course Kate had to follow.
And I love how Marin is right in the middle of it all looking so tiny!

Isn't Hollis beautiful? Look at those eyes! She is walking everywhere and so curious about everything, especially our stairs. :) We would put Carson in charge of not letting her go up the stairs but he would get distracted and there she would go! She was fast to!
