Hopie

The other night my friend Hopie came over to see us. I am blessed with incredible friends, but when those friends also love your kids to pieces it's the best bonus of life.

Hope's baby girl Vera. Gorgeous!

Trouble!

He was so set on making her laugh but she didn't cave:)

He's mine ALL mine...I am one blessed Mommy

Big Beds...Take 39

Recently the kids got new twin beds. I am hoping that this will be the push that we all need so that I can get my bed back. Although I do love anticipating when the next foot to my rib will come from or hand in my face in the middle of the night. And I will definitely miss Carson waking up from a sound sleep saying, "Mommy?" and me answering sleepily "Yeah Carso?" ...and then 5 seconds later, "Mommy, I love you." How many people get to be told at 3 in the morning that they are loved? But it's time. Last year I declared it the year of no diapers and this year I will declare it the year I take my bed back. Potty training seems a lot easier than sleep training these 2 again.

Oh dear!

Oh double dear!

The first night they stayed in there from 9pm -3am. Kate woke up twice crying so I walked her back to bed. I guess she got wise that everytime she cried I would put her back to bed so she snuck into my bed in the middle of the night. I woke up and she was right there. Dang it! or as Carson would say "Bang it!"

Hitting the Santa Jack Pot

Let's be honest Kate's track record with Santa has been rough at best. Let's take a look at the past visits with Santa..... 2011 there was no picture due to the fact that she completely fled the scene and left Carson stranded with Santa.

Then there was 2010. Complete terror...

And who could forget this picture from 2009?

So this year I had no idea what she would do, or what Carson would do for that matter. The line was LONG. I think we waited 2 hours. We were 10 minutes into the line and Kate announced that she needed to go potty. Oh man! So we had to get out of the long line, high tail to the nasty mall bathroom and then make our way back to the end of the line which was now even longer mind you. Now we were in between  a lady that smelled like moth balls and a guy in back of us who smelled like he hadn't taken a shower in a month. It was a toss up but in the end I stayed closer to the moth ball lady. Of course Kate exclaimed, "Pee U!" a couple of times to which I said "4 years old... what are you gonna do?" to the curious stares. We finally got about 10 minutes away when Kate said, "Mommy I need to go poop!" I made the biggest potty gamble yet and aked if she could hold it as we were so close. I have never asked either of my kids to hold it knowing that the ramfications to that would be enormous but we were TEN minutes away! Also Kate had just said to me, "I don't want to go and see Santa anymore." I did not have high hopes. Also right before we walked up to the see him she pointed to the arch way where you exit and said, "Mom that's the way out right?" It looked like we were going to have  repeat of years past and then............

I guess you could say that Kate has made her peace with Santa. :)

A big hug from brother. And a big confident smile from Kate.

That's  her "I'm so proud of myself I can hardly stand it" face.

What a difference a year makes.:)

Telling Santa she wants a train?!??! Never heard that before!

Friends at last!
It made the whole smelly 2 hour wait SO worth it.  I was so proud of both of them. Big hugs for Santa and they looked him in the eye and told him exactly what they wanted.

Pictures That I Love

Usually I try to edit my pictures, but today I just couldn't leave any of these out. There were so priceless to me.

I love Carson, He knows what I'm going to ask him to do so he extends his arm....

Slides his way over.....

And Bingo!

Like I said, I couldn't leave any of these out.

Especially this one!

Or this one!

GingyBread House

That's what my kids call a gingerbread house. I blame Shrek. Anywho. I picked up this gingerbread house kit at JoAnn's. It seemed like a good idea in theory. It was frustrating because it didn't exactly all fit together. BUT the kids did have a lot of fun decorating it. :) Just between you and me it's already in the trash and the kids haven't asked once about it.

There was a lot of tasting.

And more tasting.

I know your eye goes right to Kate, but look at Carson. :)

The finished product

Buddy's Date Night

It looks like Buddy and Barbie took a little joy ride in her 'vette last night:)

I was thankful for Buddy because this morning it got the kids up in a good mood eager to find out what Buddy did last night.

And on a Monday morning that's quite priceless!

Chasing Cars

He's saying to me, "Mommy don't you want to stay outside with me?" Can't you just see it in his face?:)

Don't ever think that just because you have a girl that she won't like cars and all things transportation. Kate loves them just as much as Carso.

I LOVE this picture. Really captures JOY!

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
