What Can I Say?

Carson loves his new shoes. He even takes them to bed!

Christmas Clothes Take One

He always feels like such a boy when he wears  a shirt with buttons.

Notice Buzz Light Year shoes.

Mr. Sweater Vest

This made me do a double take as I thought, "she looks so grown up!"

I told Kate "too much dancing and not enough posing!" Although I guess I'm lucky that she wasn't running away from me like she was in 90% of the other pictures.

Nativity Scene

Angel Boy

The disgruntled wiseman.

My Mom got the kids this nativity scene for Christmas. The kids love to play with it because all of the characters are in their own individual box. They love to open them again and again and again. They say, "Baby Jesus!" and that is the signal to get all of the boxes down. Kate calls Joseph, "Joe" and Mary "Mommy" Carson delights in pointing out the Angel and "B B Jesus" And then they arrange them in the little manger scene. It is very sweet. Although last night I had to tell Carson, "Carso take Mary out of your mouth! Carson do not eat Mary!"

This is the little set up Carson had created. I'll let you draw your own biblical conclusions.

All Over the Place

My birthday present from Jared. A sweet necklace that is called "Joy of my heart." Kate has a matching one under the tree. I keep telling her that when she asks to wear my "leckalace". I didn't think she would remember until I was holding her today and she was playing with my necklace. She looks right at me and says, "I'm getting one to!" Just when you think they aren't really listening.

Two constant companions, Lamb and Bear. I had to snap this pic as they look like they are both gazing admiringly at Kate.

Kate rocked this outfit last week end. The minute she put these boots on her stride was long and she just strutted all over the store.

This week end Carson woke up 1 hour earlier than his sister. It was interesting to see him play with out any AHEM! interference from Kate. He loved working on his puzzles.

I love Kate's hair in the morning. I love that she was sporting this wing yesterday.

It just keeps getting more and more nutritious at our house. Kate's new love? Donuts! Jared brought them home ONE time on his last shift and suddenly it's all she wants.

Just noticing little things. Like the fact that she is holding the crayon in a big girl way.

Christmas From Bear and Honey

A dolly! This is a beautiful doll that my Dad and Robin gave Kate. It also comes with a matching dress for Kate to wear.

A little girl and her first real life doll

I call this one "enthralled"

Instant friends

Carson got a big stegosaurus. The first thing he did was start to wrestle it to the ground.

Ho Ho

My kids call Santa "HO HO." Jared and I thought it would be so fun to buy one of those inflatable Santas to put in our yard. However these inflatable Ho Hos are no match for the Texas wind so Jared brought Ho Ho inside. Now let me tell you, if you've never had a 8 foot Santa in your family room then you are missing out. It's a constant source of entertainment. Our kids talk to him all of the time. Kate tells him "good morning" and asks him questions like, "Are you hungry Ho Ho?" She is always asking us to high five him.  Apparently Ho Ho was thirsty because the kids asked Jared to do this the other day. Every night when we get home the kids ask for Ho Ho and I plug him in and he inflates. Kind of like a new holiday tradition.

Carson is still not too sure about having Ho Ho in our house but he is warming up to him.

You Are My Sunshine

Here's my girl singing Our Song. My favorite part is when she closes her eyes and sings, "You neBer know dear, how I love you." Love the little laugh at the end.  I have been singing this song to her since the day she was born and I love hearing her sing it to me now. :)

Frosty Salsa

With out a doubt one of the best salsa/grapevine/charleston dances done to the song Frosty the Snowman I have ever seen. I love it at the end when he follows the ball out of the picture. Only one thing can distract this boy from his dancing and that is a ball rolling past him. And of course the No Pants. Did you expect anything Less from Carson?

These Are the Moments I Live For

She was running circles around me while I tried to take her picture. That hat was a special find by her Daddy. She hardly took it off all week end. It just fits her personality and makes her look like such a big girl.

She was attacking the chips and queso. I love how she is just all lit up from the inside.

Christmas Card Out Takes

I  was not going to do a Christmas card this year. I mean, really who besides grandparents and certain Aunts wants to see a picture of Kate with her mouth wide open and/or Carson with a sneer on his face? But then on Friday we played our favorite camera game "let's try to beat the self timer beep and scramble into place." And lo and behold a minor Christmas miracle! A picture where #1 we were all smiling and #2 we all had our clothes on (ahem, boys!) But it took us awhile to get there. Enjoy the out takes that led to the official Christmas photo. Merry Christmas Everyone!

I ruined this one with my "crazy eyes." I was trying to make Kate smile.

Too much smiling for Mom, not enough for Kate but I LOVE the look on Carson's face.

Hilarious!

Daddy and Kate

A picture of one of the sweetest relationships I have ever been priviledged to witness. A special bond indeed.

Goof Ball

I am sure there is some parenting book out there that says not to label your kids. Especially at 2 years old. But if I had to take a guess I would say that Carson is going to grow up to be a pure goof ball which is fine by me. The world needs need more goofballs. The following pictures were all of his own doing and not done for photo opportunities.

He came up to me with the goofiest grin on his face last night. He had managed to pull his shirt up over his head and was running around. I kept trying to get a pic for Jared with my phone to send him at work but everything I got was a blur.

What a nut!

Man I love him! I mean look at that face! Look at that hair! How could you not love this little boy. Wild at heart for sure!

To Carson's future wife:  I hope you enjoy this picture of your husband. He was 22 months and wanted to wear his boots with just his diaper. I hope that he has broken this habit by now, but if not, he's all yours!

Seriously?? Could he get any cuter??? says the unbiased Mom. :)

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
