A Good Parking Spot

Today we found a new park. I kept seeing this park from the road and made a mental note to check it out soon. I kept telling the kids that we were going to a brand new park that I found. They were so excited. I really want to remember these times when the promise of a new park is all it takes for extreme excitement. :) This park had a bonus......walking trails! We went Splorin' (Exploring). They were making up adventures and directions. Side note: It was HOT! I just want to kick myself for all the times when I have said "Where is the TX warm weather?" during our cool spring. It was here today and it brought back summer flash backs. It's right around the corner. Another side note: We've got a big week ahead of us....Kindergarten round up on Tuesday night:)

The President and I have something in common......

We both have our very own rose garden. My roses have been abundant this year:)

We're heading into the season where strawberries are cheap so we take full advantage

I made blueberry pancakes this morning with fresh blueberries. The kids were not fans:( But I was.

I caught Kate in two thoughtful poses on this chair. Yep, that's a plastic snake in her hand. She chose it with tickets from the arcade when she went to play putt putt with her daddy yesterday.

The future teenager pose.

Our new cool park. A xylophone!

This girl loves to swing!

Carso had just taken a nap before we got here. He takes naps about 2 times a year at our house so you can imagine what kind of mood he was in. But he perked up soon.

Our "Splorin" trails

Carso pointing the way. It was a dead end:)

A long the way we collected a lot of rocks that Carso said we could take home and paint. The crafty gene is coming out

Kate is running to find out what's around the corner. It was a bridge filled with graffiti. But to her it was "a place where all of the dragons live!"

Taking a rest on the bench

Her relaxin' pose

Pointing the way to "a new path Mommy! I found it!"

Hot little cheeks!

Kate explained, "Ok guys this is where the baby dragons live." Which prompted Carson to immediately ask, "What about the Mommy and Daddy dragon?"

She insisted we all sit down so that she could teach us about "rock families."

Carso and his rock house.

Kate's "fashion poses" Oh dear!

Good Times

What is Carson waiting for with eager anticipation?

Jolly Rancher lollipops! I got this idea from my Family Fun magazine. You just place 3 jolly ranchers together on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake at 250 for 6 minutes.

My kids are goofballs. What's goofier than wearing your brother's unders on your head? Yep it's a clean pair and I like that she had the good sense to turn them inside out:)

Carson's "truck hat"

Carson's hair is longer in the back due to a grown out Mohawk. He has crazy morning hair when he gets up!

A happy moment right before we head out the door for school. After this shot was taken Kate was none to pleased that Carson photo bombed her.

Kate got her summer do last Saturday, Even though she looks like a brooding teenager in these pictures, (yikes!) I thought it showed off her cute little cut pretty well.

Photo tip:  if you ever want to get a picture of your kids that looks like they are super sweet to each other, give them a video game to play that they are both VERY interested in. In the 2 seconds that they aren't fighting over the game, snap the picture.

I caught these sweet scenes from my back porch tonight:)

My back yard corner which was previously unruly has been transformed thanks to my brother Burke and my good friend Jared. Burke did all of the heavy lifting by filling in the ponds with dirt and moving ginormous rocks and Jared finished it off for me with his mad landscaping skills. My own little quiet spot that I need to use before it gets too hot:)

And I Love Her

Easter 2013

What a great Easter week end. We got to spend it with my brother Burke's family. We dyed some eggs, went to church,  ate A LOT:), had an egg hunt, and spent sometime outside at the park. The cousins all played so well together and enjoyed each other so much. Marin could be heard calling out her familiar, "Carsie!!! Where are you????" which made Carson feel really special.:) I love my little nieces. I am so happy that we have got to spend so much time with them lately:) And now the picture avalanche.

We had a little Hollis fashion show. She is SO beautiful!

You gotta love Texas. They called for rain all week end but it never showed up. Instead, we got sunny skies and warm temps. My kids were in their swim suits Saturday.

Carso very intent on dying some eggs. He was especially excited when he realized he could write a message on the eggs. His choice? "Poo Poo pants" which is his favorite phrase right now.

The Easter Bunny brought Rescue Bots for their baskets.

Marin manning the egg dying. She got the hang of it really fast.

Easter Sunday pictures. Get ready:)

Hollis still hasn't received the Big Girl memo stating " you must never look at the camera again. Especially when you are in pretty dresses." As a result she was the star of the show!

Me and my wiggle worms.

Sharing a secret:)

Love this picture. Marin with all of her spoils:)

Kate opening up a confetti egg:) Everytime she opened one up  she would say, "Pinata!"

God has said, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
