June Photo A Day Challenge

Next month I will be participating in the photo a day challenge. I had so much fun with this last year so I thought I would give it a whirl again. You in again Stace?

Memorial Day

The good thing about being a boy and eating a chocolate popsicle is that there is always more on your face for later:)

Yep....that sure was a good popsicle. Yessiree it was.

I tried to take a picture of Kate with chocolate all over face but she is more self conscious about it than Carson and tries to wipe it off really quick. But today I caught he with the tiniest smudge still on her nose.

Like I said...not self conscious at all. :)

Her awesome new swimsuit.

I love this picture. She is fake sleeping...but still. See those 2 freckles on her hand? We call them Margaret and Emily. :)

Our new love seat has become a favorite relaxing place for Kate.

 

This is genuine laughter from Carson. He was cracking himself up. Apparently Kate was not amused.

The kids found another use for our new hammock...a tent!

Disco 10K

Last Sunday my friends Gracie and Hope ran a 10k with me. There is nothing like running with your friends. We had so much fun laughing and talking. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning. And I have major respect for Gracie who just had a baby 4 short months ago!  I started training for a 15k this morning. It will be more of a challenge to beat the heat because I hate to run in the heat. But I'm definitely going to give it a go!

Kate's First Ballet Recital

Today we drove out to historic Waxahachie for Kate's 1st (and last?) ballet recital. She was so excited to be there and to dress up in her ballet gear. She had a little bit of a deer in the headlights expression when she got on stage.    At one point I thought she was going to be sick! But then when she was finally done and walked off stage she was all smiles and bounces again.  The theater was very beautiful and the perfect size for this little recital. Carson and I got a front row seat. My favorite parts of the video: Carso shouting at the beginning: "Are they gonna dance?" and then in Rocking Robin when Kate starts kicking those legs and just can't stop:) Please ignore my incessant "Yeahs!" and obnoxious cheering. I was just so proud!

The Pirate Butterflies

The Pirate Butterflies. Yep that was Carson's T-ball team name. And I love the age of 4 because he thought nothing of the name. The adults were the only ones that were cringing at the non-sportslike name. Today was the last game for the T-ball season. We had mixed reviews for the season. Some games he was excited to play. Hitting the ball with enthusiasm and charging every ball that was hit even when it wasn't in his vicinity (much to the chagrin of the player covering that area.)And then there were games (2 in particular) where he was sitting down picking at the grass and just generally acting like a disgruntled major leaguer. Ah the ups and downs of a 4 year old. And now the pictures. :)

#1 and his trusty sidekick. Sister needs some lessons on cheering. At one point in the game when I asked her to cheer her brother on she replied, "Mommy can you do it for me? I'm just too tired!"

They were all about hugging this morning and I was loving it.

Now this is hitting with JOY! As you can tell this was one of his good days:)
