Today's theme was
DRINK so I had to post a picture of my favorite drink. I do not know what it is about Ginger ale that makes it my favorite but I love it. Actually I think it has something to do with visiting my Grams in Pittsburgh in the summers. She always had it in her house. I can still see the glasses that we would pour it into, little orange slices on the outside. Funny some of the weird things you remember as a kid. And even though there is not a chance in the world that it will be available in restaurantsin Texas I still ask for it almost everytime just to be a Northern snob or Yankee. (I know you can buy it in any grocery store but it's not the same!) I just love the confused expression on the waiter's face. And then I also love to tell him how to make a fake one "Sprite with a splash of coke and some brown sugar if you have it." Guaranteed places for real ginger ale: planes, Mi Cocina, restaurants in Mexico City and restaurants up North.:) One memorable time I ordered one at Macaroni Grill and the waiter asked for my ID! Ummmm it's not an alcoholic beverage sir. My friends had a great laugh over that one.
